What a neat place to visit. Lots of trains parked in the lot. A fun little hand train railway for children to play on.

Very informative, reasonably priced, i learned alot, my tout guide was awsome

This is an excellent local railroad museum, focusing solely on the Reading Railroad. The equipment collection is impressive, inside and outside. Locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, station equipment, model railroads, historical displays, etc. If you like trains and history, it is a great place to visit. There are even activities for children, including toy trains to play with, and hand cranked cars they can ride on outside. They also have a well stocked store inside, featuring a lot of different railroad merchandise including clothing, books, models and more. I definitely recommend a visit!

If the museum was connected to the old BM&R tracks, it would be an amazing ending to a scenic run, but alas that track is used for storage. I have hopes though!

No better place for a train experience in Berks County! Their exhibits are outside, and some need a good bit of money to repair, but the tour is worth it to be up close and personal with pieces of Reading history. The staff is very friendly, and is happy to talk trains (which is a huge bonus for me). The gift shop has some books you cannot even find on ebay, and the prices are a bit high due to the rarity thereof. The books, however, are worth it.

Jeff had an excellent presentation. Model layout is tremendous
